IRS Standard Mileage rate FAQs
With a 80% time savings, we make tracking your car miles a "business no brainer."

You need a minimum width screen of 1024 pixels wide by 768 tall; on Windows, if you have only the minimum height screen, you will need to minimize the tool bar display to one or two.

I enter an address and the dialog is just sitting there with no buttons to continue?

The buttons to continue are hidden at the bottom of the screen. Do you have a 1024 X 768 screen? If you do how many tool bars do you have open on Window?

Please close all but one of the tool bars and the buttons at the bottom of the screen will reveal themselves.

What batch address import formats does BizMile support?

Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, Apple Mail, Vcard and many other formats too.

How do I batch import a format that is not automatically supported?

Use a CSV format with ALL the following (They are case sensitive !) column headers (even if they are blank columns)
Company (this will map to the place name and it can be Fred Smith's name too),
Business Street (you can have just the address or you can have this: 101 Ness Drive, Beaumont, CA),
Business City (can be blank if city name as above),
Business State (MUST fill out state code for each such as CA or TX),
Business Postal Code (totally unnecessary but don't tell the P.O),
Business Address (may be empty),
Business Country (also may be empty)

How soon will my account be set up and ready for use?

Users are given a password to their individual Web account via email almost instantly.  You can then start using your BizMile Tracker account to complete your own online logs in record time using your appointment addresses and dates.

If you do not get your password and login email, check your junk mail folder. If it is not there, call or email tech support.

Bizmile does the rest.  It calculates distance, factors the rate and posts total mileage – instantly – to the main YTD (year to date). Reports are subtotaled by month for each car setup. You can have up to 4 cars in each individual user account.

Is my access 24 hours a day?

Yes, you will have access to your account 24 hours a day, except during scheduled maintenance of which you will be notified ahead of time, by email, of maintenance periods.

What browsers do you support?

On the Windows OS, we support Explorer, Firefox, Chrome. On Mac OS X, we support Firefox, Safari, and Chrome

How do I save my trip deductions for future reference and in case of an IRS audit? And what happens to my addresses that I entered?

Select the "Print" button on the YTD Summary screen. A PDF report will display in your browser. Print this report and save it for archival purposes. Save it with your annual tax information for reference and extra peace of mind that you have properly documented deductions.

BMT will save your addresses and trip information from year to year, provided you are a current customer, so you only have to enter the addresses once. Per our Privacy Statement, no information is ever shared with third parties. Never.

I enter an address in the TripBuilder or Add a trip and the dialog is just sitting there with no buttons to continue?

The buttons to continue are hidden at the bottom of the screen. Do you have a 1024 X 768 screen? If you do how many tool bars do you have open?

Please close all but one of the tool bars and the buttons at the bottom of the screen will reveal themselves.

Why are some addresses "red flagged" after batch importing?

When you batch import, BizMile goes out to "geocode" an address to get its latitude and longitude. If it is not able to look up the address it displays a red flag to indicate that it is not available for trip making

How do I fix these red flagged addresses?

In the address book, click on the address to edit it. You will get a dialog box. You can enter a business name in the Google search box to find a business without even knowing its address.

If that does not work, check to see if the address is correct and there is no typo in it. (Hey- it happens...)

If you HAVE checked the address, and it is still not "geocoding", use intersections to work around the problem e.g. "Vine St and 8th St. , Los Angeles, CA" BizMile will return a Red Map Pin with a question mark. Click on it to indicate that you accept the address.

I just bought a new year and it is not showing up on my screen?

Go to your Preferences on the top right hand of your screen. Select the new year to display. Save this view and go back to the YTD Summary screen (click the top left blue button "YTD Summary") The new year will be indicated at the top of this screen.

All your addresses from previous years are available for reuse in the new years too.

How do I add a car to my year?

Go to the the "Odometer calc." with its blue button at the top of the screen.

Name and create a new car there.

NOTE: A new column will appear on the YTD Summary for assigning a car to a trip. The default car assignment will automatically be the last car you entered. Each car will tally separately when you print the reports too.

Why not just guess on your mileage deductions?

Because guessing is no longer the smart thing to do. When our customers found out how far
they drove last year, they were mortified by how much money they had left on the table.
They guessed low.

Hold on to all the money to which you are entitled, Find out how many miles you drove and
how much money you can save. Learn more about Bizmile - an easier and more accurate tool.
